After all these years of photographing his family's portraits, it was fun getting to know Patrick on his own as we explored the city for his senior portrait session. It definitely felt more like an adventure than a photo shoot, which made my day! Adventures are good. I love my job.
Watson & Heathcliff.
Watson & Heathcliff. Sounds like a men's cologne or a fancy chocolate bar, doesn't it? Nope... they're two beagles who found a forever home with Whitney & BJ, whose wedding I photographed what seems like forever ago. Interested in anything BUT having their photo taken or listening to instructions, these pups made me work for it - and kept us laughing the entire time! That's what's so great about photographing animal friends... it's a fun lesson in letting go of expectations. I can make suggestions, but in the end, they call the shots and I go along for the ride.
Miracle of miracles? A few shots of Watty and Heathcliff together... a feat even Whitney & BJ said they couldn't accomplish. I'm smilin' about that!
You're invited!
It's official: I'm exhibiting for the second year at Yellow Springs' Art & Soul arts festival! It takes place next weekend on Saturday, Nov. 16th at the Mills Lawn School, just a stroll away from downtown Yellow Springs, Ohio. If you've been to YS, you know it's a fun town to visit. If you haven't, the arts festival is the perfect reason to come check it out, do a little shopping & have lunch at one of Yellow Springs' amazing restaurants (my two faves: The Winds, and Ye Olde Trail Tavern).
So make a little day trip to a fun town & a great arts festival… you'll have a wonderful time. See you there!
(200 S. Walnut St., Yellow Springs OH from 10am-5pm. $3 admission)
